He quoted an article in Shizuoka Shimbun SBS titled “Three nursery school workers beat a one-year-old child’s head and hanged him in midair.
According to the article, three nursery school teachers in their 30s and 40s were found to have habitually verbally abused and physically punished children at Sakura Nursery School in Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
In August 2022, the director of the preschool received a report and investigated, and found out that the nursery workers had been hitting a 1-year-old child on the head, locking the child in a storage room, and forcibly removing the child’s pants.
The daycare teachers largely admitted to the acts, and three were removed from their homerooms, one has already resigned, and the other two are planning to resign in the future.
Citing this article, Hiroyuki said, “Based on the Child Welfare Law, the governor of Shizuoka Prefecture should revoke the licenses of the nursery school teachers in question. There is no way they can get away with it if they resign and work at other preschools,” he posted.
