International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach met with Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga at the Prime Minister’s Office on April 14, and reportedly told him that the Tokyo Olympics would be open to spectators if the new coronavirus infection situation in Japan improved.

Many Japanese people criticized him, saying, “You’re the one who can’t read the air, as usual. “It’s like he’s underestimating public sentiment or something, and they just feel like he’s got a different sense of humor.
