A basketball legend’s shoes have fetched around 170 million yen.
According to the auction company Sotheby’s, the shoes of former basketball player Michael Jordan were auctioned in Las Vegas, U.S., on March 24, and sold for 1.472 million dollars (about 170 million yen).
The shoes were actually used by Jordan in his rookie season in 1984, and are called the “Airship” model by Nike.
The shoes are signed by Jordan and were given to a boy who was a ball boy at the time.
Sotheby’s said it was the highest bid ever for a pair of shoes actually used in a match.
Nikes are expensive too, but their popularity never wanes!
