On September 18, 2022, Hiroyuki Nishimura, a.k.a. “Hiroyuki,” the founder of “2channel (now 5channel)” and businessman, updated his Twitter account and complained about a hoax regarding PCs being donated to an orphanage.
“There is absolutely no room for me or the donors to touch the PCs.”
Hiroyuki, who launched a project to donate PCs to orphanages in 2021, informed on Twitter on September 16, 2010, that he had donated a total of 323 PCs worth approximately 50 million yen to 96 orphanages in 2021.
In this post, he announced that he would continue the donation project to orphanages this year. The post announced that the company would donate 5,000,000 yen to a children’s home this year, and that if the project was continued every year, the children’s home would no longer need to buy computers.
However, a Twitter user posted to the staff and children at the orphanage, “There might be a risk of having personal information and data extracted, so be careful,” and “‘Nothing is as expensive as free.
Hiroyuki quoted and retweeted this post, explaining that the “Let’s Give Away Free PCs to Children’s Homes” project is delivered directly from a domestic PC manufacturer to children’s homes, so there is no room for me or any other donors to touch the PCs. He complained to the contributor, “Unless you are writing this for the purpose of spreading false information, I would appreciate it if you would quit.” He complained bitterly.
