Harukeya 2 (1 Sotokanda, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), a store specializing in the trading card game “Pokémon Card Game,” began selling “Pokémon Illustrator,” a promotional card for the Pokémon Card Game, for 200 million yen each. (Akiba Keizai Shimbun)

 Pokémon Illustrator is a card that was distributed only to the winners of the Grand Prize and Excellence Award in the “Illustration Artist Contest” held in the monthly magazine “Corocoro Comic” from 1997 to 1998.

It was not distributed to the general public and is said to be “a very rare card” (the store).

 The product has been graded 8.5 out of 10 by Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), a third-party authentication and grading service for trading cards in the United States.

200 million card

 The Pokémon Illustrator card that received the highest grade of 10 points from PSA was entered into the Guinness Book of World Records as the “Most Expensive Pokémon Card Traded in Private Sales.

A video posted by an overseas video distributor who currently owns the card announced that it was valued at US$5,275,000 (670 million yen in January 2023).
