Marukame Seimen, a Sanuki udon chain, opened its first UK shop in central London on the 26th.
The opening date had to be postponed due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus, but more than 100 people queued up on the first day.
The first shop was opened near Liverpool Street station in the heart of the financial district of the City.
A bowl of kake udon is priced at £3.95 (about 600 yen), which is unbeatably cheap for a London restaurant.
But in Japan, it’s less than half that price.
