The Dolby Cinema version of the animated film ‘The Galaxy Express 999’ (1979) and the second film ‘Goodbye Galaxy Express 999: Andromeda Terminus’ (1981) will be screened. ‘The Galaxy Express 999’ will be released on January 14, 2022 and ‘Goodbye Galaxy Express 999’ on January 21, 2022 at 7 theaters in Japan: Marunouchi Piccadilly in Tokyo, T-Joy Yokohama in Kanagawa, MOVIX Saitama, Midland Square Cinema in Aichi, MOVIX Kyoto, Umeda Burg 7 in Osaka and T-Joy Hakata in Fukuoka. The film will be released sequentially in seven theatres across Japan.
Directed by Rintaro and produced by Toei Animation, based on the manga by Leiji Matsumoto, this is one of the most famous animation films in the history of animation and will be brought back to life as a new visual experience.
The Dolby Cinema version of the trailer shows the famous scene of the 999 running through the galaxy with Tetsuro, Mater and Captain Harlock in the background, narrated by Masako Nozawa, who plays Tetsuro, and the theme song sung by Godiego.
